CALL FOR SUBMISSION
Dear colleagues,
In 2025, the Editorial Board of Psychological Research (in the Balkans) plans to publish two booklets in English. Each booklet will contain an average of six articles with positive reviews. Guest editors have been invited for each booklet.
For issue 1/2025, has been invited as a guest editor Assoc. Prof. Dr. Georgina Lukanova, head of the department “Economics and Organization of Tourism” at the University of Economics – Varna. The publications will be oriented toward themes related to the psychosocial and economic aspects of tourism. The theoretical, empirical, and applied developments included in the special issue of the journal will explore socio-economic issues in the contemporary development of the hospitality industry at the national and regional levels:
- Between wishful thinking and rational choices when visiting a restaurant.
- Hotel satisfaction and guest marital status: Is there a relationship?
- Implementing universal human values in the business strategies of tourism enterprises.
- Cluster approaches to the formation and management of the tourism destination economy.
- Green transition strategies in the shipping and cruise industry.
Seeking support for the publication of a special issue of the journal “Psychological Research (in the Balkans)” - issue 2/2025, is motivated by the need to apply a comprehensive approach to the development of the scientific field “Counseling Psychology” at the Institute for Population and Human Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Its main goal is to generate new knowledge emphasizing studying humanistic approaches in psychology, counseling, and psychotherapy and developing the methodology and tools of practical psychological science. There is already interest in publications from foreign researchers.
The publication of a special issue dedicated to Counseling Psychology would contribute to sharing scientific achievements and contemporary research models in the field, enriching the scientific dialogue regarding the methodology and tools of practical psychological science both regionally and internationally. On the other hand, such an independent edition provides an opportunity for a thematically focused presentation of research ideas and contributions specifically in this theoretical area.
For issue 2/2025, as a guest editor has been invited Assist. Prof. Dr. Diyana Dobreva-Hristova, a scientist–practitioner in the “Social and Counseling Psychology” section of the Department of “Psychology” at the Institute for Population and Human Studies (IPHS-BAS). The special issue aims to serve as a source for theoretical, conceptual, or empirical contributions that have the potential to stimulate further research in Counseling Psychology regarding methodological issues in field research, studies focusing on optimizing potential, accelerating development, or improving the well-being of populations; extensions of previous studies with contributions to public policy or social actions; and research and applications of counseling psychology approaches.
